The absurdity here is beyond my ability to comprehend. "Disaster Preparedness Consultant"?? Who would pay this guy to help them prepare for a disaster? LOL, it's actually kind of funny.
It's indicative of the almost... I don't know, I think you nailed it: incomprehensible hubris of these people. I mean, the guy is the most UNPREPARED leader in disaster history, so he becomes a DISASTER PREPAREDNESS consultant! It's like something out of "Duck Soup." You HAVE to admire the balls.
