I have Adelphia's version of Tivo called Moxi. We already done the "You've got Moxi" joke to death.
I am sure it's a low-rent version of Tivo, because everything Adelphia does is pretty half-assed.
Still, it's fun to pause the tv when I have to run to the loo and always get a weird expression on whoever I'm pausing.
When you first mentioned Moxi elsewhere I did a spit take. I couldn't believe that was still around! It was introduced years ago, with a fortune in hype and venture capital from Echostar and AOLTW and a bunch of others, as one of the first media hubs: store your music, movies, games, TV, etc. It was, of course, ahead of its time in some ways, and poorly conceived in others, since no systems signed on other than Echostar (if I remember correctly)
I was AMAZED to learn from your post that it was still clinging to life, reborn as an Adelphia TiVo knockoff. It's a little like learning that one of the superstar pioneers of rock is now singing in a Holiday Inn in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Wow, nice to know Adephia's charging us $10 bucks extra for moldy leftovers.
It's also got some wacked-out way to tell us there's a recording conflict. They wait until the show is actually on and I have to make a split-second decision on what to record and what to delete.
Didn't it recognize the conflict at the time I programmed the stuff?
