"The Final History in the Region Has Yet to be Written."

That's what Bush said in his press conference, speaking of the Middle East. I've been fantastizing all week about what it would have been like to be in that room, to raise my hand, and to say, "Mr. President, can you please list some regions for which the final history has been written?"

Narnia. Well that is what Grandpa Cheney told him.

...and America.
I'm pretty sure this is our final chapter.

But, on a creepy, serious does his statement sound if you factor in his obsession with armageddon?

boski, yes, our Middle Eastern adventure will fall somewhere between Narnia and Pompeii.

Norm, I agree. The creepiest thing he's ever said, and I can't find the exact quote, but in a speech once he something like, "Now, as America nears the end of its journey..."

I don't know about you, but I'm not quite ready for America to end its journey yet.

On a very serious note, we still stomp all over the world telling other countries what kinds of governments they should have and what kinds of weapons they should build. Because we're the world's leading superpower and always will be.

I'm sure Rome and England each labored under the same impression.

Did you see GWB's handwritten notes to himself as a reminder to utter those 'importanty' sounding words.

I can only imagine his bathroom to-do list: CRAP, WIPE, WASH RIGHT HAND.
