Lawrence O'Donnell & The West Wing: Rewriting the Word "Liberal"

A Facebook meme caused one of my favorite writers, Lawrence O'Donnell, to take a moment to show one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite hours of dramatic TV: the live debate episode of The West Wing.  It's still as inspiring today.

Problem with "Game Change" Ads: I Used to Associate "American Woman" with Heather Graham in this Video. I'd Like to Go Back to That, Please.

Colbert, Gingrich, Khan and Herman Melville: One of My Favorite Death Scenes

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is a great movie, even if you have never seen Star Trek before.  It boasts a brilliant, career-topping performance by Ricardo Montalban.  Montalban's Khan is a creature obsessed with anger, hellbent on revenge against Kirk (not completely unjustified, which is another of the movie's brilliant touches), and his fury boils over in one of my favorite movie death scenes.

Last night, Stephen Colbert predicted this would also be Newt Gingrich's concession speech.  Which is genius, and also gives me an excuse to post the scene.
